Product Description

The Yellow Foxface (Siganus vulpinus) is a vibrant, yellow marine fish with a distinctive black-and-white face mask, known for its venomous spines used defensively and its algae-grazing diet, making it a popular, hardy, but cautious addition to saltwater aquariums, requiring spacious tanks (125+ gallons) and a diet of greens to thrive and avoid nipping corals.

Appearance & Characteristics

Color: Bright yellow body with a white face, black band through the eye, and a dark chest patch.

Face: Unique, fox-like snout with black and white markings.

Size: Grows up to 10 inches (25 cm).

Venom: Has venomous dorsal and anal spines for defense; a sting is painful but rare if not handled.

Stress Response: Can change color dramatically (to dull gray/brown) and hide when stressed or threatened.

Aquarium Care
